We like to cook. We like to bake. And we like to eat what we bake, but only when it comes out good! In this review we’re going to take a look at the Andrew James Mixer, which is something that helps everything come out good!
Once you have all of the essentials in your kitchen – i.e. a toaster, an oven, a fridge, a kettle – the next thing that you should consider investing in is some kind of mixer. A mixer is an ideal tool for those who love to cook and to bake, and will make countless jobs around the kitchen easier and more fun. It’s great for making healthy meals and makes a striking feature in the room that says you care about cooking and you know what you’re doing.
Mixers are typically capable of a wide range of tasks, which are only limited by the power of the motor and the attachments that you have available.
In this review, we’re looking at a particularly well made food mixer from Andrew James. This is a beautiful looking appliance, available in a wide range of colours, that has excellent functionality – as we have come to expect from Andrew James.
The first thing that will strike you about this mixer is the appearance. This is a stunning looking machine that has a slightly gloss finish to it (it is actually available in five different colours). It looks incredibly premium, which belies the relatively affordable price.
The tool comes with four beater attachments, which include a dough hook, flexible beater, aluminium beater and balloon whisk. This will primarily be used to knead your bread then, to whip up batters for cakes and whisk meringues.
The result? Less elbow and wrist strain, less chance of RSI and better end products that will wow your guests.
This mixer weighs in at 5kg and measures 19 x 36 x 35cm.
It is plastic but has stainless steel attachments.
The capacity of the bowl is 5.2 litres.
The motor is a powerful 800W which proves ample for any job you can throw at it.
And robust gear mechanisms promise great longevity too.
On top of the highly convenient attachments, this product offers great versatility thanks to its six different speed settings.
Also impressive is the orbital nature of the spinning beaters which ensures not a drop ends up unreached and the end result is as fluffy/smooth as possible.
The splash guard is easy to remove and clean, while the attachments can also be swapped out quickly and easily.
A potentially missing feature that might give some kitchen-dwellers pause for thought is the lack of additional attachments that might make it work as a blender or a mincer. For that extra functionality, you are looking at a kitchen processor, which will likely cost more and provide a ‘jack of all trades, master of none’ experience.
This Andrew James food mixer comes with a bunch of extras including a spatula and a handy splash guard to prevent you from getting meringue mix all over your clothes and the floor!
While we’re reviewing the stunning red model, there are actually five different colors available in total, so it’s possible to find the one that will best fit your kitchen space.
For those looking to supplement their purchase, other bowels will work with the mixer.
Alternatives include the Goodqol 6 speed metallicstand mixer and the Morphy Richards 400015. Neither has quite the same stunning look however and neither offers quite the same value for money.
At the time of writing, the customer reviews are extremely positive for the Andrew James Mixer. There are currently 1,162 reviews on Amazon, with a fantastically high average score of 4.3 stars out of 5, which is one of the highest we’ve seen.
One reviewer said:
“I was a little concerned when purchasing this item as to its quality given the very low price. It seemed to be quite highly rated though so I took the plunge. I have not been disappointed and very gratified to see the price increasing since I bought. This is a no frills machine. You can’t add juicers, mincers, blenders or the plethora of other add ons that more expensive machines offer. It’s simple, it’s basic and it works very, very well. It won’t work for very small amounts but no other mixer will either. Give it four egg whites though and it will whip up an excellent meringue. The machine is sturdy and seems well put together. I haven’t been able to find any fault with it so far. Fingers crossed it will last a lifetime.”
In conclusion then, this is a fantastic product that offers excellent performance, a strong brand and beautiful aesthetics. For those that love cooking, this is a purchase that will make it easier and more enjoyable to create a wide range of dishes and bakes – and will brighten up the kitchen in the process.
The only drawback is that this is very much a ‘no frills’ option. There are no options beyond the four attachments included and for some, this might sound like false economy. However, if you are looking for a food mixer specifically and one that looks fantastic and works flawlessly, this is one of the best choices on the market.
At the time of review it came with a nice DISCOUNT and FREE DELIVERY.
